Personal Update
It has been a whirlwind month since last newsletter's Gold Coast excitement. I'll try to keep it condensed!
Based at home however, and an absolute highlight of the month, has been creating the Success With Confidence coaching program with a group of inspiring, creative people who are working towards incredibly worthwhile goals - we're all loving it!
Following the launch night I was off to WA, with a stop in Sydney to meet with prolific authors Jane and Michael Pelusey, who took me to lunch at Aria, where they'd just interviewed Matt Moran for one of their "Living Your Passion" books and they interviewed me for another book in the series, which will be launching next year. I could write a page just on that!
Then off to Port Hedland in Australia's northwest for 5 nights. The atmosphere there is so amazing as everyone has big thinking and can do attitudes. On Monday we explored social media and strategic communication at the small business centre in Port Hedland, where people were implementing changes immediately and inspiring everyone. I also had the great honour of speaking on Friday night and Sunday morning at C3 church about confidence, influence and the power of thoughts and words - my favourite topics! Here's a couple of comments -
"I came in here a very angry person and went home transformed. Thank you Kerrie. You are so right - words are SO powerful"
"A positive and uplifting session. Great to connect with Kerrie and others"
"How soon can you come back?"
A very 'cool' place I visited a few hours from Port Hedland was Marble Bar. Known to be the hottest place in Australia, its balmy 35 degrees was far removed from the 4 degrees evening that we had experienced in Dubbo before I left! I was thankful they'd actually had a cool change up there as it was over 40 the week before. It's a place bursting with creativity and resilience and I'm so thankful to Denise (from the Small Business Centre) for taking me out there!
Conversations With Entrepreneurs, my traveling networking event, was held in Borders Bookstore in Perth, where I caught up with friends and met many more inspiring people, just as I did in Adelaide, Gold Coast, Hobart and various other places this year. Phew! I loved the time in WA, but was glad to come home too. Here's a little snapshot on video of some of my reflections on my time in WA. There's a whole lot more photos and videos to share, so I'll post them in the blog over the next couple of weeks.
I was delighted to be home in time for Mary Brell's visit to Dubbo - I captured some of her thoughts for our success tip below. Enjoy! ...And keep growing :-)
Cheering you on,
Kerrie

Mary spoke in Dubbo last week at the Women in Business luncheon on Leadership Begins From Within - here's a glimpse of the GOLD she had to share...
Leadership starts from within
Effective leaders:
- Have a reputation for integrity based on a foundation of personal and professional values, ethics and standards that guide their practice and relationships at all times.
- Are self aware, can manage their own emotions, are empathetic, self motivated and socially competent.
- Think deeply and strategically, drawing upon their own wesdom and that of others.
- Are always learning, listening, reframing and regrouping in order to improve and renew their professional commitment and energy.
Individual things that you can do:
- Develop a habit of reflecting and writing about your work, your workplace and your leadership.
- Develop a 'leadership stance' - a philosophy, an attitude - for yourself in your workplace.
- Develop a personal network of trusted colleagues whose integrity and professionalism you respect and trust.
