Personal Update
Have you been to Port Hedland, WA? I can now say that this is a place well worth the visit and the people are inspiring and incredibly welcoming! James and Penny Taylor, Inline Engineering, hosted the the WA booklaunch of Lifting the Lid on Quiet Achievers on 19 May, at Dalgety House, a historic and significant venue. I also I did 2 days of business brainstorming workshops for entrepreneurs there, with the support of the Small Business Centre (BEC). I LOVED it! Can't wait to go back (November at this stage) I then had 2 days in Perth and hosted with friends, a bookstore event called "Conversations with Entrepreneurs" at Borders. If we're connected on facebook you may know some of this, but keep reading as there's more that's only for our subscribers! If not - join me on facebook too - and this is the book page.

I arrived home to attend Natalie Bramble's expo called "It's My Event" and was delighted to be set up next to Nathan Shooter. It was great to meet many local entrepreneurs and event co-ordinators, and see great ideas emerging and connections being created. Natalie's a brilliant and inspiring regional entrepreneur, who I introduced in Lifting the Lid on Quiet Achievers (pages 8, 247 -249) and I'm sure you'll enjoy her success tip below.
Cheering you on,
Lyndon & Kerrie

Success Tip
Todays Success Tip comes from Natalie Bramble
Natalie Bramble owns NB Managment a consulting firm based in Dubbo and providing services Australia wide. Natalie has over 15 years experience developing organisations in a variety of industries from small business, not-for-profit and corporate organisations to local government. What is your success tip for Entrepreneurs?
"When you get knocked down, pick yourself, put your shoes back on and keep going."
And an except from Kerrie's interview with Natalie in Lifting The Lid On Quiet Achievers -
What do you love about being in business in regional Australia?
There are so many things that I love about what I do and where I choose to be located. The clients that I work with are passionate about their communities and their organisations and it’s an honour that every day I get to work with these people and help them with their development goals.
I find the business community extremely supportive. It’s hard enough being in business and if I didn’t have a strong network of people to connect with to share each other’s journey I wouldn’t enjoy what I do as much.
I am regularly amazed at the connections that people make in regional Australia and how many more opportunities they are presented with that I know would not have happened had they lived anywhere else! That’s definitely a strength that regional Australia has to offer business owners ‒ the communities we have and the passionate people that live in them.

Well done Kerrie, I think you have provided rural Australia a fantastic platform to give the rest of the country some insight we can all learn from. For example perseverance when times are tough and treating your customers and staff like an extension of your family. Just golden lessons from real people, love it.
Gratefully inspired
Tony
