Personal Update
Are you enjoying the silly season yet? Or finding a way to keep it sane and even special? Just before you go on holidays, we'd love to share some excitement, and some inspiration to fuel your journey. I've just come back from a few days in Sydney, where I met up with the lovely and inspiring James and Penny Taylor, who were visiting family.
James is featured in the new book, with his inspiring chapter "Engineering Opportunities". I was delighted to share with them a copy of the book in print-ready form, as it's now in the printing process and on it's way here!!

It was also a wonderful time with coaching colleagues; everytime we connect we inspire and cheer each other on. I'm pictured below with Roland Hanekroot, who was in my first (and many subsequent) coach training, and we both celebrated 5 years of our coaching businesses this month! Josie Thompson and Roz Loxton flew down from Brisbane, along with Judy Williams, a dear friend and Create the Life Club member and Coach.
We were all in Sydney for David Rock's "Your Brain At Work" event, following the recent launch of his latest book on understanding your brain to minimise distractions and be more effective.
Fascinating and incredibly useful!

As a result of meeting a lovely gentleman on a previous trip, I met with the director of the Country Education Foundation, Jocellin Jannson, and Benny Callaghan of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. Ours was a really inspiring conversation and proof that it's well worth saying "Hi" to strangers!
Cheering you on,
Lyndon & Kerrie

P.S. We're finally ready to let the books go flying off the shelves! Or out of the boxes as they arrive! We have a small shipment arriving ahead of the rest, so to be one of the first to grab a signed copy see the order form at the bottom of the page!
Success Tip
Todays Success Tip comes from James Taylor
James owns and runs a successful enginering business in Port Headland WA. After being made redundant he saw the opportunity to fill the gap the business that shut down had left, and with a remnant of two tradesmen, an apprentice and part-time office worker, Inline Engineering Services began.
What are your recommendations to get started and keep moving successfully?
Success means lots of different things to different people. However, you need to keep the main goal of what you are doing, the main thing; do not get distracted or mix up different goals together.
These are my top tips on keeping the main thing, the main thing:
- Read some books on business strategy to get your head into what you need to do to keep the main goal of your business the main goal. I recommend a book called “The Goal” by Eliyahu M Goldratt. It wasn’t until I read this book that I was able to separate what the business did to what the goal of my business or any business is – to make money.
- Know where you want to go. To get to point B from point A, you must know where point B is. Work out where you want your point B in 6 or 12 months and start the road map of how to get there. Be smart about this and ask lots of questions to people you trust and people in your industry. Learn from other peoples mistakes.
- You are IT, so get used to it. Your business, your name, your money, your responsibility. Don’t let anybody else take your decisions away from you that you need to make. This is why you started what you are doing, being your own boss, running your own business so you can make these calls. Be wise, be smart, get all the information you need and then just do it, make the decision that you need to make.
Owning, running and being part of your own business is something not everyone will do, but anyone can do if they want to. It will try you and test you, but it will reward you far more with enjoyment, self-belief and self growth every day. Enjoy the rewards and enjoy what you do. Love your life!
