No Cash No Fear!
Monday, March 16th, 2009

No Cash No Fear is an inspiring book that tells the story of the entrepreneur Terry Allen. Terry Allen has started over 20 businesses since he was a child and shares his successes and failures openly and equally.

After listening to No Cash No Fear I was so excited I organised for Kerrie and I to sit down and make some plans and reset our goals. It also included reassessing our values (if you follow us on twitter you will have seen when this was happening). Now we have not finished doing all this but we have made a start and I am looking forward to continuing to move forward.

Have you heard the saying “You have to have money to make money.”? If you believe this or have even said it then this book will lay that fallacy to rest.

If you are looking to be inspired and move ahead in business, even if you have no cash. Read No Cash No Fear.

In it you will discover:

  • How Terry Allen bounced back from bankruptcy to building a $10 million company.
  • 99% of everything you will ever need to know about selling by direct mail.
  • Discover the secrets to selling a product that doesn’t exist yet!
  • How to start up your own business with no cash whatsoever.
  • How Terry Allen used his classmates as a great source of raising capital.
  • The 4 commandments you must know and understand before you start a business.

No Cash No Fear reminded me of when I was at school and my mates used to wait outside the door to the cooking room. When I had finished I would meet them and sell what I had cooked. It reminded me that I was being entrepreneurial even when I was young and encouraged me to lay aside some of my beliefs that have clouded that desire.

My hope is that it will do the same for you.

Feel Remarkable
Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Chris Males owns one of Australia’s fastest-growing corporate health businesses and has seen first-hand the impact of poor health and the effects it has on performance in any arena of life.

With this in mind Chris has a balanced view of exercise and nutrition and doesn’t focus on weight loss. I totally agree! Having seen shows like the Biggest Loser where they bump someone off the team for gaining 2kg. These shows omit to tell us that this same person has lost 10cm from their belt size and is now far healthier and making great progress.

Because of shows like these and fad diets people have a distorted perception of what “healthy” really is.

Chris Males brings a refreshing view on how to maintain your health and eat well. After listening to this audio I felt that getting and staying healthy is achievable even for someone (like me) who does not like the gym and enjoys his food. (I am working on my attitude to exercise).

Feel Remarkable is an audio presentation by Chris Males.
In it you will discover:

•Useful tips to increase your health
•When is the right time to exercise and what will work for you
•The importance of having healthy staff around you
•Tips on weight loss and nutrition
•Secrets to increase your energy levels
•Understanding that your staff are your greatest asset

Click here to download Feel Remarkable.

I was prompted to do this blog after reading Kerrie’s blog on Tuesday entitled Healthy Habits.

Are you ready?
Friday, January 9th, 2009

I was woken early this morning from a deep sleep, following my late night return from the farm. “Oh my goodness! Who is pounding on the door so early?!”

It was the third shipment of my Journals, so I opened the garage for the oh-so-chipper Courier and welcomed them in.

Life’s a little like that – sometimes we get lovely surprises or opportunities, but we don’t feel quite ready for them. It reminded me of a call earlier in the week with one of our members, a previous coaching client, who has the opportunity to take on a great business with enormous potential. His concern, which I completely relate to, was a sense of not knowing enough yet. (When do we ever know enough? …these opportunities keep us always learning, always fresh and growing, so it’s all good.)

I recommended a few people and resources to him, especially The E-Myth which has supported countless people around the world, including me and a large percentage of my clients. I believe it’s essential reading for anyone in business, or considering a business, so check it out here, print it off, underline key ideas, write notes… implement, and build a thriving business that works for you.

This resource, plus more than 500 others, are available to Create the Life Club members at no extra cost, even if you’re a fast learner and download one to use everyday! If you haven’t discovered the benefits of Create the Life Club membership, you can trial it today for just $1. Read more here

Only 24 Hours… and I Have To Do Everything?
Thursday, November 13th, 2008

We all have 24 hours in a day. So why do some people run around like mad chooks and get nothing done while others have heaps to do but seem to just breeze through the day? It’s one of those questions that plagues us like; How long is a piece of string? If a tree fall in the bush and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? & Why do men have nipples? These are the questions of life, the universe, and everything.

But there is an answer to at least my first question about why some get things done and others dont.

The answer is (Drum roll Please)…………..FOCUS.

Dr Adam Fraser is one of Australia’s leading educators, researchers and thought leaders in the area of human performance! He has worked with elite level athletes, the armed forces and business professionals of all levels.

In this audio presentation Dr Fraser reveals some insightful truths regarding how to increase your productivity and dispels some of the myths regarding multi-tasking. You’ll also discover how to focus, and the power of learning how to ‘chunk’ your daily tasks to finish them quicker

Click here to listen to this powerful presentation by Dr Adam Fraser.

PS: If you really need an answer to the other questions we can discus them at a later date.

PSS: Hope you enjoy Dr Adam Fraser.

Blink!

Thinking Logically

You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when
you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:

1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?

Think before you continue reading. This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first.

Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back.

However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer.

He simply answered:
“I would give the car keys to my old mate and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.”

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations.

Never forget to “Think outside of the Box”.
————————————————————

Malcolm Gladwell (one of my favorite authors and speakers) wrote a book called “Blink”. It really is an amazing book on how we think, and how sometimes we think too much.

Certainly worth reading, but if you don’t have that sort of time then the summarized version is on the Create the Life Club website and is the book in a nutshell. The great thing is, it’s only 8 pages.

Since reading this book I am certainly more aware of “my thinking” than before.

Have a great day

Life at 30,000 feet!
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Richard Branson has a unique, flamboyant style and is truly one of today’s high fliers.

Now some of you know I love skydiving and the higher up you can get the better it is!

Joseph Kittinger 30km above the earth. In 1960 Joseph Kittinger of the United States Air Force set the world record as part of project Excelsior. He reached 102,800 feet, a record still unbeaten in nearly 50 years.

Steve Truglia in Project Space Jump is planning to jump from 120,000 feet in a spacesuit, breaking the sound barrier with his body. The jump is scheduled for later this year.

Richard Branson however has a Life at 30,000 feet. I have viewed this video a few times now and I am still astounded at how much Richard Branson has achieved.

It is a fascinating & insightful interview with one of today’s movers & shakers in the business world.

In this video interview with Richard Branson you will discover:

. The power of trying new things
. Tips to getting free publicity
. The financial value treating people well
. How to build your reputation and the value of it
. The importance of staying informed and educated
. Ways to live in the moment to build future success

A Good Use of Time…

At this very moment I am sitting outside enjoying the sun and waiting for Ethan (my son) to finish his music lessons.

Often I just kick back and relax, but today, I had the lap top and thought I would make the most of the time and check out some of the new content on the website. Then thought “why don’t I share it with you.”

What a great Idea!

Here is what I listened to and it only goes for 10 minutes. 5 minutes to write this and I still get to relax for 15 minutes.

In this audio presentation you will discover:

* The one thing you need to know about sustained individual success
* Why you must find out what you don’t like doing and stop doing it
* How to excel as a manager
* Why you should focus on your persistence and drive
* Why we have a weakness fascination
* Discover why building up your strengths is crucial to your success
