Joseph Kittinger 30km above the earth.In 1960 Joseph Kittinger of the United States Air Force set the world record as part of project Excelsior. He reached 102,800 feet, a record still unbeaten in nearly 50 years.

Steve Truglia in Project Space Jump is planning to jump from 120,000 feet in a spacesuit, breaking the sound barrier with his body. The jump is scheduled for later this year.
